  • Vendor: Modio Health. Founded 2015, raised $24M Series B (2022). HQ San Francisco. Healthcare-only, focused on physician credentialing.
  • Customer overlap: Two of our hospital clients (St. Catherine, Mercy) are on Modio. They mentioned it favorably in last QBR — passing reference, not a push.
  • Recent wins: CommonSpirit standardized on Modio for new MSP partnerships in Q4 2025. That's a tailwind for us if we adopt.
  • Recent losses: Lost a deal at Universal Health Services last year to Symplr — UHS cited Symplr's MSP integration depth. Worth probing.

'Do they really save 7 days vs our current stack?'
Their pitch is 7-day median credentialing. Ours is 14 days. The delta could be real (auto-sync) or marketing (best-case demo). We need to pressure-test this before committing $72K/year + migration cost.
Key counter-points when it comes up
  • Customer reference checks: Ask for two references at hospitals our size with the same EMR (Epic). Specifically ask each: median credentialing time before vs after Modio.
  • Pilot with measurable outcome: Propose a 60-day paid pilot on 20 providers. If their median beats 10 days, we sign annual. If not, we walk with no migration cost.
  • Implementation reality check: Their 60-day implementation is the headline number. Reference customers: ask how long it really took, what broke, what they'd do differently.
